Guru Nanak Birthday anniversary on 12 November

GURU NANAK

He is the founder of the Sikh religion and the 1st of the Sikh Gurus.Guru Nanak Dev Ji also called him. He was born on April 15, 1469, in the Western Punjab village of Talwandi (Modern Day Pakistan) District Nankana Sahib near Lahore. He was born into a simple Hindu family. He speaks languages such as Punjabi, Arabic, Persian, and Sanskrit.

Guru Nanak Family:

Nanak’s father Mehta Kalian Das was a local patwari in the village of Talwandi under the employment of the local Muslim authorities.

His mother’s name was Mata Tripta. Nanak married On 24 September 1487  with Mata Sulakhani, who was the daughter of Mui Chand and Chando Rani in the town of Batala. The couple had two sons Sri Chand  and Lakhmi Chand.

Nanak had one sister Bibi Nanaki. She was five years older than him, married and moved to Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district in the Indian state of Punjab with her husband, Jai Ram. She was the first teacher of Sikhism. Nanak was attached to his sister and followed him at the age of around 16 years.

Guru Nanak was famous for?

In Sikh traditions, Nanak’s followers believe the birth and early years of Nanak’s life marked with many miracles and events demonstrated that divine grace has marked Nanak. as a result, he had inspirational teachings based on the universal divinity of creation.

Belief on Muslims and Sufism?

Nanak’s father taught him under the supervision of a Muslim teacher, Syed Hassan. Syed Hassan also named Qutab UL Din. He was said to be a precocious guy with particular illumination into religious teachings and philosophy. Nanak Dev also considered by many Muslims to be a Sufi or follower of Sufism belief.

In the last years of the 1940s, when Hindus, Muslims, became enemies of each other in the name of Sikh religion, While temples, Gurdwaras, and mosques were being demolished,So the chief of the Nihang Sikhs said, “If anyone hurts and harms to the Holy places erection by the Guru, we will kill him.” Today, this historical and holy place is under the supervision of Sikhs. He considers all humans equally creation of God. There is no more rich or poor before God.

Guru Nanak Dev a GOD (Bhagwan)?

He was the creator of Sikhism. He was

born in a Hindu family, but he never believed or adopted the Hindu religion. His life went against Hindu culture and traditions. He rejected Hinduism and its rituals and never wore Janeu (a sacred thread or cord sacred to the Hindus). He never called himself God, but some Sikhs believe him is the god and even die for him. Nanak believes there is only one GOD and all humans are the creature of GOD.

Hinduism and Sikhism:

These are both Dharma (cosmic law and order) religions that began in the Sub-continent. Hinduism is an old religion founded in 2300 B.C. and 1500 B.C, while Sikhism founded in the 15th-century. In the days of the Mughal Empire, when Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam, the Sikh community came to the defense them.

Hw wrote Book named Gurj Granth Sahib in which he wrote about the principal of scripture of Sikhism.

There are ten Sikh gurus:

Sikhism Diet :

Followers of Sikhism do not prefer meat or vegetarian consumption. There are different views of different people. It is observed that only Lacto-vegetarian food served in the Gurdwara.

Sikh Guru Nanak states on the views that eating vegetation would be eating:

ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੂ ਜਾਣੈ ਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਥਹੁ ਮਾਸੁ ਉਪੰਨਾ ॥ ਤੋਇਅਹੁ ਅੰਨੁ ਕਮਾਦੁ ਕਪਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਇਅਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਗੰਨਾ .

 Guru Nanak Death?

Nanak’s died, age 70.  On September 22, 1539, at Kartarpur District Narowal, Pakistan. His funeral was controversy with Hindu and Muslim followers wishing to bury him in different manners. Hundreds of flowers founded when the cloth removed from Nanak’s body. likewise, Sikhs and Muslims both remembered his spiritual personality.

There is Public Holy Day in India on the Birthday and Death anniversary.

 

Kartarpur Corridor opened and  3000 Indian Sikhs reach Nankana Sahib in Pakistan to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev.2019.
