US forces killed the Islamic State Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, and confirmed his death. According to Reuters News Agency, an American official said on the the the condition of anonymity that US forces targeted Baghdadi. However, they did not provide details of the operation.
Newsweek quotes US military official Al-Baghdadi dead because of the operation. According to AFP news agency, US media quoted authorities as saying that Abu Bakr Baghdadi may have flown himself with a suicide jacket during the operation of US forces.
US President Donald Trump will make an important statement Sunday, AFP reported, citing a White House spokesman.
A video released by ISIS in April this year a man claiming that he was al-Baghdadi.
Al-Baghdadi has been the head of ISIS since 2010 when the organization established its footprint in al-Qaeda. Al-Baghdadi, age 48, was last seen when he announced the establishment of a ‘caliphate’ in Iraq and Syria in 2014 from the Iraqi city of Mosul.
Meanwhile,Turkey says co-ordination between Turkey and the United States took place before the operation in the Syria Aleppo.
The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a tweet that information exchanged and cordoned off between the military officials of the two countries before the US forces launched an operation in Syria’s Aleppo last night.
